There comes times in our lives where we feel as if life is tougher than we expect. We get in the mindset that our lives are at its end and we can’t go any longer.

I know this feeling all too well. It can be such a soul crushing moment because giving up is all we ever think about. Like how can our lives get any better when all we are enduring is pain and discomfort. I’m here to tell you that it gets better. Even in our darkest moment, life has a way of teaching us in the dark moments to look for the light in our situations.

You are not the only one here that is experiencing pain, but your pain is not solely who you are. You don’t have to live each day wondering where your worth lies. You are not worthless just because you are not where you want to be.

This circumstance that you are experiencing today is molding you into the person you are becoming. It may be awkward and unfamiliar, but with every growth we become more than who we were.

Growing out of our old versions doesn’t mean we are losing who we are. We are just going through different seasons that require us to shed away our old habits in order to develop new ones to help become better versions of ourselves.

I, for too long, always thought that certain habits of mine were just “the way I am.” Little did I know that I was taught unhealthy habits growing up. I never knew how to handle my situations in a better manner.

I would use the excuse all the time that hey this is how I grew up and there’s no reason for me to change. But in reality, we can change our habits in order to deal with our realities better. We don’t need to feed negative energy in order to receive a solution because feeding negative with negative just produces more negative. There is no neutralizing it.

Changing our way of thinking and how we handle our situations can help us navigate through the hardships life throws at us. We can approach the uncomfortable situations with a better perspective in order to figure out our solutions. We must be held responsible for our own actions and how we react.

We can’t expect others to figure that out for us. We are the only ones who can allow ourselves to hinder us or help us. Don’t fall victim to your own subconscious. There is always a way to manuveaur through the hard times.

When it gets tough, don’t ever feel like you need to give up. Reach out for help. Learn more about your reactions. Learn from your chaos. Allow yourself some grace to move through the emotions of despair. God is always by our side even in our darkest times. Don’t allow the enemy to sway you away from the light you desperately seek.
