This world does not satisfy our souls.

With trauma, hurt, sickness, and everything the world tries to do to destroy our souls, we must look to our God to fulfill what’s hurting on the inside.

We need to allow him to do work within you can open doors of clarity and love for yourself.

You don’t need to continue to hate or shame yourself in spite of the circumstances or situations you were put in.

You don’t need to keep punishing yourself while you feel you may deserve it.

We essentially are all sinners. However, our sin doesn’t mean we can’t win at being happy.

God wants us to repent on our wrong doings. That is no doubt.

But the situations he puts us through will help guide us to become better people. To serve the world better. To share the power of His word and to teach others how they can be free of the world as well as their burdens. Most importantly, draw us closer to him.

We walk around the world thinking we are going to find what we are looking for. We pick up a shiny item bring it home, and cherish it for 5 minutes thinking we have found happiness. But after 5 minutes, that sinking feeling comes back.

So we set out again finding something bigger and better thinking “Oh this will be it, I will finally be happy after I get this one.” We bring it home, all excited. And after a few more minutes, that same sinking feeling comes back.

Talk about disappointing, right?

I’ve realized that I always set out looking for the next best thing thinking it will serve me better than what I had before. But that is not what I found.

Depending on the worldly things for your happiness doesn’t seem to work. Nothing in this world can make you happy. You have to find happiness within yourself and through our Lord.

God has filled those empty holes inside my heart. No person or object could ever fill those empty holes because people and materials are only temporary. God’s love is eternal and full.

When we set unrealistic expectations, we set ourselves up for disappointment. We can’t expect others to give us what we want if we don’t know what we want in the first place.

So ultimately, we have to dig deep and find our love and happiness within us and within God’s word. As the Bible states “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NIRV‬‬. God is love and we should love as He loves us.

Depending on the world to fulfill what’s inside will forever be a vicious cycle. There will always be bigger and better things out there but there will never be another you.

Put that in perspective. We aren’t here to compete with one another. Bring each other down. Strike at each other’s dignity because we only have control over our own life and what we choose to get out of it.

If you are unhappy, then you are allowing yourself to find unhappiness within your circle. You aren’t finding happiness in the right areas.

Allow God to fill your voids and stop depending on others to fill it for you. Other people cannot be held accountable to make you happy. You must choose to find your light in the midst of your darkness. No matter how ugly it gets.

You choose to surround yourself with negativity. You choose to constantly look for something better than what is in front of you. You constantly try to outdo others although you still feel you are behind in the race.

But trust me, God doesn’t care about what you have. He cares about you, His child. He wants you to feel His love. He wants to show you how it is to live with Him and not the world. He can give you peace and comfort while the worlds agenda is to tear you apart.

You are worthy of finding yourself and allowing your life to be filled with joy. You aren’t stuck. You aren’t deemed worthless. You are worthy, loved, and everything God wants in His children.
