Be in charge of what you feed your mind.

There are so many sources in this world that try to push their way of thinking on us. Sometimes it succeeds. Sometimes it doesn’t. But the constant pressure from outside sources makes it hard to believe what we see.

We start questioning ourselves. We start feeling guilty of our beliefs. What we stand for. Who we are as people.

It’s not easy to live in a world that is always pushing an agenda to get the most out of something for their benefit. But you ever wonder what all this pushing is really doing?

It’s nothing good in the end. When something is under constant pressure, guess what, it explodes.

We keep feeding into the fire. Keep typing away at our keyboards. Trying to prove this and disprove that. When did it become acceptable to feed hatred, to feed the enemy what it wants? Because that’s all we are doing right now.

Tearing each other apart. Knit picking our fellow peers. Judging them to their very core. What have we become?

We should be focusing what we are feeding our mind and soul. If it’s the media, social media, Instagram, Tik Tok, or whatever invalid source of info you are viewing, then you are doing nothing but poisoning your soul. The hatred that feeds into these sources bring nothing but feelings of guilt and hurt your way.

Here’s how I feel.

We are like a pot of soup. We are under fire each day. Each day our fire can be a simmer or it can be wide open. If we allow someone else to step in and add to our soup that makes it bitter, then we will serve ourselves with bitterness.

If we allow ourselves to be in charge of what we put in, then we can choose savory. The more nutritious ingredients we choose, the better we feel.

Letting outside sources fill in the gaps that we are hurting in will only bring us more pain. The enemy will soon fill us with bitterness and hate. The enemy wants us under a constant boil to rid us of any joy we may have in our pot. They want us to soil our nutrition with negativity and then boil over to hurt others who may be beside us.

God wants us to simmer our fire. To soak in what we put in our pot. To allow the ingredients to seep deep into our soul in order to fill ourselves with more of Him and His word. We must reach to God in our pressured times so we can allow Him to fill our gaps. He can provide us with wholeness and heal our pain. We don’t need to do anything but allow Him to reach our soul. Fill our body and mind with His promise and allow us to defeat the enemy that wishes us hell.

Whatever you put in is what you will get out. Stop allowing those who serve no purpose to add so much negativity in your life. Start controlling what you put in front your face. Everything that brings us under pressure doesn’t need to. We aren’t here to fit the needs of the world, but to fit the needs God has brought us here for. We may still be searching for our purpose, but I promise it isn’t to bring more hate and bitterness into someone else’s life.

Here‘s a verse to soak in this week.

“God is the God who gives peace. May he make you holy through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept free from blame. May you be without blame from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes.”

1 Thessalonians 5:23 NIRV
